But Nina Dobrev sure opted to flash the flesh as she attended the premiere of her latest film, The Final Girls, at the Los Angeles International Film Festival at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old actress arrived in a plunging ornate red and whited frock featuring a belled bottom.

The floral-themed sleeveless number was also elegantly detailed with beaded embroidery and lace.

The Vampire Diaries star paired glammed up her look by teaming it with silver ankle-strap pumps and a matching metallic clutch.

Her thick brunette tresses were styled in voluminous curls, as her brown eyes popped with dramatic lashes.

Nina completed her ensemble with bold studded earrings.

The actress stars alongside Malin Akerman and Adam DeVine in the new horror comedy which follows the story of a young woman grieving the loss of her mother, a famous scream queen from the 1980s.

She finds herself pulled into the world of her mom's most famous movie, and reunited, the women must fight off the film's maniacal killer.

Meanwhile, Nina has been staying busy with her personally life, spending time with her new beau, Whiplash star Austin Stowell, 30.

On Sunday, the pair made their relationship public as they cuddled up in a photo booth at pal Jaime King's baby shower at the Soho House in West Hollywood.

Taylor Swift threw the shower, which was also attended by celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Sarah Hyland, and Gigi Hadid.

Nina and Austin looked cosy as they mugged for the camera in the booth.

She was in Hawaii for the Maui Film Festival but Laura Dern decided to mix business with pleasure by turning the trip into a family holiday. 

Dern, 48, was spotted on the beach on Monday with her 10-year-old daughter Jaya - whose father is Laura's ex Ben Harper, and later trying out some paddleboarding. 

Laura wore a black bikini under a green and black striped shirt, with her long hair in loose beachy waves around her shoulders. 

The mother and daughter opted to use the same paddleboard, doubling up for their stint on the water. 

Dern and Harper tied the knot in 2005 after meeting at one of his concerts in 2000.

Laura also has a son Ellery, 13, with Ben, who she divorced in 2013 after reconciling and splitting in an on-off relationship during their last years together. 

Singer-songwriter Ben has since moved on, marrying social advocate Jaclyn Matfus on New Year's Day.

Earlier this year Laura received a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award nomination for her role as Reese Witherspoon's mother in Wild, and this was just the most recent accolade received over the course of a long career. 

 

In Wild, she played Bobbi Grey, the mother of Cheryl Strayed (Witherspoon), whose death was the catalyst that set Cheryl hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.

It had been over 20 years since Laura was last recognised by the Academy Awards, when she received a Best Actress nomination for 1992's Rambling Rose.

Over the intervening years, the actress picked up three Golden Globe awards for television work, plus five Emmy nominations. 

Laura previously revealed that she feels 'lucky' her job allows her the freedom to spend time with her children. 

.On Sunday Laura received the Maui Film Festival's Rainmaker Award in a ceremony held under the stars at the outdoor Celestial Cinema on the Gold And Emerald Golf Course in Wailea.

Presented on the closing night of the five-day event, festival director Barry Rivers said the Rainmaker Award honored an artist who had the power 'to profoundly and positively impact' every project they are involved in.

He praised the actress’s 'grace, humanity and luminosity' in her film and TV work, according to Variety.

She was the co-host so needed to find a dress to impress for a fundraising dinner.

And Kate Hudson certainly did just that as she arrived at exclusive member's club Annabel's in London on Monday night in a stunning backless dress and some towering heels.

The 36-year-old actress joined forces with her mum Goldie Hawn for the Love-In For The Kids' event, the 4th annual Hawn Foundation UK fundraising dinner.

While 69-year-old Goldie chose a colouful boho dress for her big night, her daughter went for the glam factor.

But on Monday night it was all about her mother, as Kate showed up to co-host Goldie's event. 

The foundation aims to bring the MindUp programme, which trains teachers and schools to help children develop the emotional and social skills needed to aid their learning through the Buddhist technique of Mindfulness Training, to schools around the world.

It aims to help children increase their concentration, improve their behaviour and deal with stress.

An introduction to the programme on the foundation's website reads: 'Children today are showing signs of distress. School dropout rates are rising. Distractions abound for children, their teachers, and parents.

'A child’s ability to learn is directly linked to their overall state of well-being and mental health, of primary concern to The Hawn Foundation and Founder, Goldie Hawn who was the visionary behind MindUP.
