Find the fashion trends at Emmys Red Carpet
Awards show red carpets are prime fashion trend-spotting grounds, and the 2014 Emmys were no exception. Hollywood was trending all over the place -- from the thigh-high slits and major metallics, to quite possibly the most red we've ever seen on a red carpet, we loved every second of it. While it's not every day that most of us don a formal, red carpet-ready dress, there's a lot of inspiration to be had? from celebrity dresses at awards show. We chose four prime examples of Emmys red carpet trends we'll be replicating this fall, and broke them down for you here. Our favorite trends are as follows:
STARK WHITE: OK, so seeing crisp, clean white wasn't a huge surprise, considering we've been talking about it all summer. The Emmys red carpet only confirmed that the trend isn't going anywhere anytime soon. No white after Labor Day? Not anymore!
RED: We can't recall a time when we've seen this much red on a red carpet. Everyone from January Jones in Prabal Gurung, to Claire Danes in a stunningly pretty lace Givenchy, was down with the bold hue. Take note: You'll be seeing plenty of red this fall.
ORNATE EMBELLISHMENTS: These were the prettiest dresses that really stood out to us at the Emmys. From Kerry Washington's crystal-lined Prada, to Julia Roberts's super-heavy-looking but gorgeous Givenchy dress, several stars were rocking the flair. You can except to see embellishments, especially pretty bejeweled ones, popping up on everything from shirts, to skirts, to shoes this fall.
HALTER NECKLINES: While there were plenty of plunging deep v-necks at both the Emmys and this week's VMAs, we're really loving the halter neckline right now. Michelle Dockery, Lizzy Caplan, and Taylor Schilling all wore halter styles that screaming sexiness and sophistication.

'Project Runway’ Recap: ‘The Klum Of Doom’
If contestants on Lifetime’s Project Runway haven’t learned it by now, they sure had a rude awakening when Heidi Klum stormed the work room to tear almost every single one of them a new asshole. You don’t mess up Heidi’s dress.
The challenge was to create a red carpet look for Ms. Klum to wear to the Creative Emmy Awards using only $250. Sounds simple, right? Oh no, it all went so terribly wrong.
Most of the designers pick black fabrics and Korina starts dissing on all of them while touting her choice of dark teal and snakeskin. Kini is done with his impeccable dress in like three seconds. Alexander thinks Mitchell’s idea looks like a pile of garbage and well, he was kind of correct on that assessment. When Heidi visits the workroom to critique she tells Korina that the color green she has chosen is like what hunters in Germany wear. She also hates the snakeskin. Sandhya’s design looks like an 80′s episode of Dynasty, with peacock feathers and matronly lace. Mitchell’s look has a bustier with devil’s horns.
The looks are so terrible that Heidi allows anyone who needs to go back to Mood and buy $100 more fabric. If they don’t need to go back they can opt to help another contestant and give them their money. Because Sandhya is no dummy, she asks a few people for their extra cash and ends up buying fabric at Mood that is $120 a yard. Korina is pissed, but I call that smart business acumen. Meanwhile, Korina seems like all lip and no game.
The top three looks are made by Kini, Amanda, and Sean. Amanda’s look is very bohemian, very hippie, and very much her aesthetic. It’s bold and different. Not all the judges love it, but Heidi likes it. Sean’s look is made entirely of royal blue fringe which fades into black ombre. It’s perfectly cut and hugs the body nicely as to keep its wearer from looking heavy.
The bottom three looks were made by Korina, Kristine, and Mitchell. Kristine’s look also had devil horns and rather than keeping straps she added them to the back of the short cocktail dresses australia and opted for strapless. Mitchell’s second-chance look was a disaster. It was poorly made, the fabric was cheap looking, and the concept was terrible.
The judges chose Sean as the winner (although Kini seems to deserve these wins based on consistency alone). They sent both Mitchell and Kristine packing. Korina had better get her shit together or her butt will be the next one out the door.

New Album, New Style!?A Homage To Taylor Swift's Ever-Evolving Wardrobe
It truly is Taylor Swift's week. The songstress revealed a new album, album cover, song AND music video during a Yahoo live stream and within minutes, the news was trending worldwide. Taylor explained that the album, 1989, is inspired by '80s pop - Bowie, eat yer heart out. So does this mean we'll see her dressing more poptastic than ever?
Because we've long noticed that Taylor changes her style according to each album. Think of it as part of a marketing strategy, if you will. While Kate Middleton never puts a sartorial step wrong in her bid to appeal to the masses, so does T-Swiz. Indeed, during the grand announcement, the star addressed her oft-discussed wardrobe.
'As a songwriter and just as a person, I try to be really open to inspiration, whether I am walking down the street in New York and see someone wearing something cool, I am effected by those things,' she said. 'In the same way as you have to be vulnerable to new emotions and painful emotions and great emotions and let those things into your songwriting... I kind of let the same thing happen with fashion, and what you'll find is you'll experiment with things you weren't comfortable with before.' Bascially, she uses her outfits to reflect her new mood and that's something we can all relate to.
Whether it's heartbreak songs reflected by retro tea semi formal dresses or a new country track complemented by cowboy boots, Swifty sticks to a tried and tested recipe. It's a wonderful marketing strategy, no? May it never end. Like, ever. Take a look at the evidence for yourselves...
Taylor Swift - 2006
The style evolution began back in October 2006 when Taylor released her eponymous debut album shortly after signing her first record deal. Aged 15, she was the ultimate country star on the album cover complete with an angelic face and halo of Goldilocks curls. As she tackled the red carpets of the world, we saw her amping up her adorableness in babydoll dresses that were cute without going OTT. And nothing screams country darling better than a shimmering pair of cowboy boots.
Fearless - 2008
When Fearless came into our lives, Tay's mane of ringlets took centre stage for the cover. She started dating Joe Jonas and together, they were the ultimate squeaky clean teen couple. Her red carpet style was the perfect complement to her homecoming queen vibe: see the girlie floor-length dresses worthy of a school prom in Nashville.

Speak Now - 2010
By the time Taylor released her third album, Speak Now, she wasn't just embracing a sequin - she was positively drenching herself in them. Whether performing on stage or posing on a red carpet, the star couldn't get enough shiny, spangle, short dresses - after all, how better to complement the princessy twinkles on her album cover? You've got to admire that?sartorial consistency. The sex kitten edge was also starting to emerge - by the end of the year, Taylor was dabbling in the world of poker-straight hair avec blonde fringe.
Red - 2012
Taylor's style matured with the release of her third album (essentially a homage to her Jake Gyllenhaal heartbreak, sob) and she thankfully escaped her sparkling style rut. Gone was the glitz and in its place was a super-preened retro style and a new boyf in the shape of Conor Kennedy. This time, she took the name of the album as wardrobe inspiration, naturally, trotting out an array of crimson-coloured tea-length frocks. The parade was accessorised by a slick of red lippy, side-swept locks and a collection of nude heels that K-Middy would be proud of.
989 - 2014
Cut to today and 24-year-old Taylor has treated us to brand new cover art inspired by the '80s. The minimalist polaroid snap is quite a departure from the usual glossy fare and has already garnered comparisons to David Bowie. Of course, this calls for another style overhaul and the transformation is already underway. Whether Tay's coming out of the gym or hitting an awards show, we've seen a carefully constructed wardrobe in recent weeks. Her new ladylike uniform consists of crop tops and matching flared skirt sets, preferably accompanied by a supermodel BFF. Well, if you've got abs and legs a-go-go, why ever not? Welcome to the grown-up Swifty era!
